Khamil Bailey
Founder & Executive Director

"Khamil is passionate about community and the people around her. Since childhood, she has been a stickler for fairness and the feelings of others and this has guided her desire to create better conditions for her community. She is a helper, sometimes to a fault but finds immense joy from the joy and happiness of others. While feeling a draw to be heavily involved in community, above all, Khamil values her alone time and time with her family. She believes in balance in all things and loves to find that balance in all parts of life."

"I am passionate about serving people, about building community, and about fostering creativity through collaboration. My personal and professional practices are rooted in advocacy for marginalized communities, including representation, resource/opportunity finding, and community service. I believe in building the future through serving and I prioritize the youth, BIPOC communities, women/femmes, queer people, and elders. I believe that serving these groups is a move towards equity for all, a step in fighting against systemic oppression, and aids in building a strong foundation for community care."

I'm passionate about making people, places, and things better than I found them. Everything that I do is rooted in service as I enjoy the feeling that giving back gives me. When not being a professional volunteer, I'm an advocate for Black Women in tech, community engagement, and guiding people through their self-publishing journey as I have published over 14 books on behalf of myself and others.
